1. Purpose
This policy describes the controls Rimoswap may apply to prevent and detect money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing, sanctions breaches, fraud and other financial crime. It applies to customers, merchants, contributors, counterparties and transactions using Rimoswap.
2. Risk-based controls
We assess risk using factors such as customer type, location, product, asset, network, transaction pattern, counterparty and available blockchain intelligence. Controls may become stricter where risk is higher.
3. Identity and business verification
Rimoswap may request a name, date of birth, address, government identification, selfie, business registration, beneficial ownership, purpose of account, source of funds or source of wealth. We may verify information through documents, databases and specialist providers. Access or limits may remain restricted until checks are complete.
4. Transaction monitoring
We may monitor deposits, withdrawals, transfers, swaps, payment activity, campaigns and connected wallet addresses for unusual size, frequency, structure, geography, counterparties, sanctions exposure, scams, stolen funds, mixers or other risk indicators. Monitoring may be automated and reviewed by authorised personnel.
5. Sanctions and prohibited relationships
Rimoswap does not knowingly provide services to sanctioned persons, prohibited jurisdictions or prohibited activity. We may screen customers, beneficial owners, counterparties and wallet addresses against relevant sanctions and risk information.
6. Reviews and reporting
We may ask for transaction explanations and supporting evidence, delay or reject activity, set limits, restrict an account, preserve records or make a report to an appropriate authority. Where law prohibits “tipping off,” we may be unable to explain a review or report in detail.
7. Record keeping and training
We retain verification, transaction, monitoring and investigation records for the period required by applicable law and operational risk. Personnel with relevant responsibilities should receive proportionate AML and financial-crime training.
8. Your responsibilities
- Use only an account that belongs to you or a business you are authorised to represent.
- Provide complete and accurate information promptly.
- Do not receive, hold or move funds for unknown persons or suspicious schemes.
- Do not split transactions or use multiple accounts to avoid controls.
- Report suspected account compromise, fraud or unauthorised activity immediately.
9. Policy review
We review this policy as Rimoswap’s products, risks and legal obligations evolve. Controls may be updated without revealing detection methods that could help people evade them.
